Emergency Flood Cleanup in Grosse Pointe
Homeowners believe most water damage comes from mass rain, or flooding. This is simply not true. A majority of all water damage losses come from sources from inside of the residence. Busted pipes, water lines from dishwashers, ice makers, or washer machines. Leaky roofs, failed sump-pumps, or damage in the foundation of the home. At Flood Clean Up, we offer leak detection for unknown sources, using thermal imaging, or moisture readings we are able to find the source of the problem.
When flooding, or water damage occurs it is important to have a certified professional handle the extraction, and dry-out process to ensure that it is done properly, and to mitigate any further damage or health hazards. Water leads to mold, when not dealt with properly, and this could lead to severe health issues. All of our equipment is state of the art to ensure the most effective dry-out possible. Using centrifugal air movers, industrial dehumidifiers, and commercial air scrubbers to keep particles out of the air, we offer the best dry-out you can get.
We recently just did a job in Grosse Pointe, and we where not the first company called. It was for a wonderful elderly couple that had noticed a musky smell coming from their basement after the other company had completed the “dry-out”. It was then assessed, and we found the problem. They had forgot to remove base molding, the pad, and wet cardboard in a back room. This, being left to fester for four days then started to produce bacteria, creating the smell, and possible health concerns. We remedied the mistakes, removed the base molding, allowing air to flow. Took out the pad, underneath the carpet so we could properly dry the carpet, and removed the wet cardboard from the back room.
After doing what the first company should have done, we left our equipment to properly finish the dry-out, and sprayed a 100% safe anti-microbial that does not require you to vacate from your house. This will effectively stop all, and any mold growth, kill any present mold, and ensure the house is safe from any bacteria, smell, and future damage that could have happened from leaving the water down there.
